Birmingham Dental Hospital

Birmingham Dental Hospital forms part of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust and operates in partnership with the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry.

It is the sole dental hospital and school in the West Midlands and one of only 10 in England.  Service provision, education and research form key components, with consultant-led dental specialties providing treatment for around 115,000 attendances each year, together with undergraduate and postgraduate training for dental students, dental nurses, dental hygienists and therapists.

Birmingham Dental Hospital is open from 9am - 5pm for patients with booked appointments following referral from their doctor or dentist. An emergency service is open from 7.30am Monday to Friday on a first come first served basis, however please note that registration does not begin until 8.30am with the first patients being seen for assessment from 9am.

A new telephone system is being installed at Birmingham Dental Hospital in May 2012, but until that time some people may experience problems with the current system when contacting departments.

If you experience any difficulties email dental.hospital@nhs.net or telephone 0121 466 5000 between 9am – 4pm and a message will be passed to the relevant department.
