Environmental Controls and Computer Access
ACT will accept referrals for an environmental controls and/or computer access assessment subject to the following criteria:

the patient has (or is expected to have) significant impairment of function in both upper limbs and
-
the patient is unable (or is expected to become unable) to use standard controls and
-
adaptation of the environment (to facilitate access to standard controls) would not be a complete solution.
AAC
ACT will accept referrals for AAC assessment subject to the following criteria:
-
anyone with a communication impairment who cannot access or is not expected to access a standard keyboard layout within the next year.
-
anyone with a communication impairment who can access a standard keyboard layout, but has an additional impairment, e.g. visual impairment, learning disability, etc.
Please note: referrals taken via the new telephone referral and enquiry line will be not accepted and processed until an appointment dates offered by ACT have been confirmed by the referrer.
