What is Patient Information and Involvement?

Patient Information and Involvement provides advice, information and advocacy on a wide range of topics relating to disability.

The service is confidential and impartial.

Our Advice and Information Officers provide the service to people with disabilities, their carers, families, students, researchers and professionals.

We operate an open access service where people can borrow videos and books.

We also provide help and support with the completion of forms such as those from the Department of Work and Pensions and Housing e.g. benefits.

Who can use our services?

We provide information for:

  • People with disabilities, their carers and their families
  • People whose work involves providing rehabilitation services
  • Students and researchers
  • Anyone else who needs advice about issues relating to disability

If we cannot provide the information you need, we will put you in touch with someone who can.

We have a wide range of information available in different forms: books, leaflets, magazines, videos and tapes. You can borrow any of the items we have.
