The Regional Trading Service provides a procurement and recycling facility for all wheelchair services within the West Midlands region.
Established over 15 years ago the service operates a trading account and receives back relinquished equipment from NHS providers, arranges for the equipment to be reconditioned and then places the equipment back in the market for sale.
The Trading Service also bulk buys wheelchairs for district wheelchair services providing a collection facility for services who wish to have access to stock of a comprehensive range of manual wheelchairs.
The advantage to local services buying chairs through the Trading Service is the in depth quality checking process all chairs are subjected to before being released. The service is a non-commissioned, not for profit organisation set up to benefit its predominantly NHS customer base, however the service will sell wheelchairs and accessories to other NHS services in/out of the West Midlands, Nursing Homes, Local Government Departments and private organisations.
The service is now able to offer its expertise directly to the general public who may wish to source a chair privately, particularly for occasional use or in some cases they may wish to upgrade the chair they currently have. The service will include competitive pricing and help and advice on the suitability of chairs and also a comprehensive maintenance package if required.
