Work is now taking place across Birmingham Community Healthcare in order to ensure that, along with the rest of the NHS, we are operating in an environmentally sustainable way.
As part of implementing our Sustainable Development Policy we have targets we need to meet to reduce our energy usage and cut our carbon emissions.
We will be undertaking an audit of all our bases this winter to ascertain areas where we need to do more – or encourage staff to do more – to save energy and reduce waste.
Sustainability guidelines have been developed to help you to know what you can do to help meet our targets and that is what we will be auditing against this winter. The guidelines also provide guidance or more environmentally-friendly procurement and greener transport.
For more information on transport options. See Responsible Travel.
