We are pleased to announce that Jill Jesson was elected on the 15th December 2016 as Public Governor representing Central and West Birmingham.  We thank those who stood in this election for their support and our members from this area who participated in deciding who would represent them. Jill will join our Council of Governors.

Membership is the cornerstone of the FT model and we are delighted to have a membership which not only represents our services, but also the diversity of the communities we work with.

As a Foundation Trust, we deliver the majority of services in people's homes and community settings. Membership is therefore a natural step forward for us, our patients and their families.

As members, you will be given the opportunity to have your say, see your decisions make a difference, vote to elect Trust Governors and hold us accountable for the quality of services we deliver.

There are three membership levels within BCHC

Level 1: Simply receive information and keep up to date

Level 2: Participate in surveys, attend meetings

Level 3: Get involved, with an interest in becoming a Governor

What do our members get involved in?

We interact with our members in many ways, ensuring you have the opportunity to work with us and influence the organisation in a variety of ways. Some of the activities our members have undertaken include:

•Attend our Patient Experience Forum, providing comment and challenge based on the Trust’s patient feedback.

•Comment on policies and strategies that we are writing.

•Critique information leaflets relating to a service or a treatment at the draft stage to ensure the information is patient friendly.

•Complete online surveys which influence the Trusts decision making.

•Participate in the Trust’s research and innovation work.
