The specialist trauma and orthopaedic service is based in a 27-bedded unit in Ward 11 at West Heath Hospital.
Who is it for?
The service is predominantly for older adults who require a period of inpatient rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery or trauma.
Who delivers it?
The ward has its own multidisciplinary team including nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, domestics and housekeepers.
There is also provision for patients to access speech and language therapy, specialist nursing and dietetics.
