The Podiatry Service provides assessment, diagnosis, advice, treatment and referral for a wide range of foot conditions. This is provided in health centres, community hospitals and the homes of housebound patients.
Who is it for?
The aim is to save limbs and lives by focussing on high risk foot problems including wound care, biomechanics and nail surgery.
Anyone registered with a Birmingham GP practice can be referred for assessment. Continued treatment will depend upon the risk status of the foot condition.
Who delivers it?
All podiatrists are registered with the Health Professions Council and provide assessment and treatment at community clinics based in the health centres detailed below according to your locality in the city.
Waiting times for routine cases are within five weeks, with urgent cases seen much sooner.
Access to the service is via a written GP or health professional clinical referral.

There is now a single access point for all foot health referrals. The new central booking office at Waterlinks House will now deal with all Podiatry referrals from across the city. It will also offer a telephone booking system to patients, giving you or your patients choice of appointment within a few weeks. Referrals come through to the service via GP or health professionals only. Please contact:
