Medical Needs in Early Years

The Medical Needs in Early Years Service is a city wide service providing training and support for Early Years Settings in Birmingham.

The training given is in relation to managing Asthma, Allergies, Epilepsy and Diabetes, use of Emergency Medication in relation to those conditions, Emergency Planning and developing Medication Policies.

Staff who accesses our training in Early Years Settings work  in both Local Authority, the Private and Voluntary Sector.

We also provide Medical Needs update training for Health Visitors in the city.

Training is delivered on site at the request of the setting depending upon the medical needs of their children and is updated on an annual basis where the training involves administering emergency medication.
