Here we provide you with some valuable pre placement resources to help prepare you for your placement with us. We hope that you will find them useful and that they will help you settle quickly and enable you to make the most of the learning opportunities that you will have here with us. The other resources on these pages will also assist you in achieving your practice outcomes and can be used to showcase your learning with your supervisor/mentor in practice.
Whilst we have provided some profession specific detail we would recommend exploring all of the pages. There are so many things that we can learn from one another and having an insight into the roles we all play is so very important to the patients, clients and service users in our care.
We do value your thoughts and opinions and would ask that when you've had a chance to use the Hub that you complete the survey to the right of this page. Or if you have any other ideas to enhance and improve this resource we would like to hear from you, our contact details are also on the right of the page.
Important information regarding the PLACEMENT QUIZ
Once you are on placement and you have obtained your unique Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) Foundation Trust ID and Password and you are able to use a National Health Service (NHS) computer you will have access to yet more important information on the 'Pre Registration Students' area in our intranet site (To obtain your access details prior to placement please contact your University allocation team/department).
Once on the intranet you can navigate to the 'Professional Development' pages and here you'll find the 'Pre Registration Students' area. As part of your clinical assessment you must complete the placement 'quiz' that can be found there and share the answers with your mentor/supervisor.
You can get a head start if you wish by previewing this 'quiz' HERE. This will help you to start thinking about some of your answers. You never know you might know some already!
