Delve into the history of Moseley Hall

Parts of the historic Old Hall at Moseley Hall Hospital will be open to the public this Sunday, 11 September from 2pm to 5pm as part of a national programme of heritage open days.

Moseley Society members will be on hand to show visitors around and explain the history of the Grade II-listed building and the estate. The Ice House in nearby Moseley Park and the Moseley Dovecote will also be available to visit.

Moseley Hall and its surrounding estate were given to the city of Birmingham by the Cadbury family in 1892  for use as a convalescent home and children's hospital for under-privileged children.

More than two centuries old, it is an administration block today but retains many original features.

This year's heritage open day programme also sees the opening of nearby Highbury Hall, the Chamberlain family's Victorian stately home, with guided tours of the house between 11am and 4pm.
