Travelling to hospital - keeping safe during the snow

BCHC arch graphic

Contractors have been working in the grounds of Moseley Hall Hospital to maintain access, safety and service delivery after cars parked onsite became stranded. However, with further snow forecast, staff and visitors are urged to take sensible precautions.

Mechanical gritters have been onsite to clear the car parks. Contractors will concentrate their continuing efforts on times that hospital staff begin and end their shifts in order to minimise disruption to the smooth running of hospital services.

However, with further adverse weather forecast, it may not be possible to keep car parking facilities clear of snow and ice throughout the weekend.

All staff and visitors to the site are urged to wear appropriate footwear and keep to the paths and vehicle thorougfares that have been gritted and cleared of snow.

Special arrangements have been made at the hospital to enable staff to stay at the hospital overnight if necessary in order to  help maintain services.

Birmingham Community Healthcare operates services throughout Birmingham and, for some specialist services, to the wider West Midlands region. All staff will be doing their utmost to maintain services for all the communities we serve but please be mindful of the additional challenges presented by the adverse weather conditions.
