Festive fun for rehab kids

Thanks to the amazing staff at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, children accessing the amputee service and their siblings were treated to a fun-filled Christmas party.

In addition to food and drink aplenty, the event included a performance from a Disney Princess, a very comedic DJ magician, face painting and a craft room.

Seamstress Jenny Fitzpatrick single-handedly created a magical grotto where Santa and his chief elf ensured each child received a gift.

And, thanks to a big-hearted single donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the party was fully funded. There was also a range of fabulous raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

Senior occupational therapist Sue Barlow said “the party was a chance for the children to attend a social event and meet and share experiences in an informal way.

"It was also an opportunity for staff to be seen outside of the clinical environment joining in the fun!

"I would like to personally thank all the staff who gave their spare time freely, the donor and all the local businesses who ensured the party was such a success."
