Spread some sparkle this winter with BCHC Charity!

Each year BCHC Charity provides around £12,000 worth of gifts, entertainment, food and drink for festive parties and decorations for inpatients across the Trust to help brighten the festive period under our care, as well as toys and advent calendars for children accessing our services. This year, we aren’t able to provide our usual in-person entertainment, but we’re still committed to making a difference for patients, service users and staff to ensure their winter wellbeing, and we need your help!

By making a donation to our Spread The Sparkle Winter Appeal, you can help us to buy the gifts, entertainment and wellbeing & relaxation items that will help our patients and staff through the festive season and beyond:

  • £5 could buy a gift for a patient spending Christmas under BCHC care
  • £10 could buy a DVD or CD for a ward to help boost morale and relieve boredom for patients and staff
  • £20 could provide a spare pair of pyjamas for the winter for a patient who is unable to see their family due to visitation restrictions/limitations
  • £30 could provide an activity pack for inpatients throughout the winter to help reduce stress and boredom
  • £50 could provide a ward with craft kits and jigsaws to help spread festive cheer

If you would prefer to donate an item, such as as a craft kit or toy, please take a look at our Winter Wishlist; from here you can purchase a gift to be sent directly to the charity to distribute where needed across the city.

Season's Greetings Cards

This year, BCHC Charity are delighted to be selling beautiful Christmas card packs featuring designs by children at Turtles Short Breaks service at Edgewood Road. Packs of 10 cards are available to purchase for £5, as well as calendars with various wonderful painted designs from Turtles clients for £7. Funds raised from the sales of cards and calendars will go towards making a difference for the clients at Turtles this Christmas and beyond. We also have reusable e-cards featuring the Charity’s mascot Nova that you can customise and send to loved ones for just £5; this is a great way to save money, the environment, and to avoid having to seal all the envelopes! Proceeds from the sale of our Nova e-cards will go towards our General fund, which any BCHC teams can apply to access.  Contact the Charity Team to get your cards today: bchc.charity@nhs.net
