COVID-19:  How Does It Affect Your Dental Care?

COVID-19 is a new respiratory illness that is caused by a type of virus called Coronavirus.  Coronavirus is transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.  In an attempt to reduce virus transmission, routine dental treatment (which may include procedures resulting in aerosols) has been paused across the UK.

Secondary care providers which include Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust (Dental Division) continue to provide urgent dental care while working towards the restoration of routine treatments.

All patients who had been accepted for routine treatment prior to 23rd March will be contacted as soon as we are able to restore our services while ensuring the safety of both patients and colleagues with a covid secure environment.

This is to reduce virus transmission and in order to keep everyone safe and healthy - yourself, your friends and family, and the teams who would ordinarily be supporting your dental care.
