Celebrating our apprentices
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we spoke with facilities contracts and helpdesk administrator Keisha Johnson who completed her business administration level 3 apprenticeship in 2025.
Keisha joined the apprenticeship programme to gain a qualification, strengthen her knowledge and build a solid foundation for long-term career development, as she describes:
My apprenticeship has allowed me to grow my confidence while gaining practical knowledge that I can apply in my current job and future roles. I now have a better understanding of how organisations work, particularly BCHC and how my role contributes to the wider picture.
Throughout my apprenticeship, I was able integrate and interact with apprentices across the Trust, which helped me recognise similarities and differences in our work and learn from each other. My apprenticeship also gave me the chance to take on projects that genuinely interested me and it was rewarding to see the real impact of my contributions.
I felt supported throughout my apprenticeship journey, not only from my manager, but from my tutor who encouraged and championed me throughout. I would absolutely recommend an apprenticeship with BCHC. It is a wonderful experience and a valuable opportunity to grow, learn and build a career. I'm even considering exploring what other apprenticeships the Trust have to offer so I can continue developing my skills in the future.
What are your aspirations?
We offer a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities to both new and current colleagues with many career paths to choose from whether they are clinical or non-clinical, take a look at our apprenticeships page to find out more.
