Welcome to Qi Gardens
Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust is committed to embedding a Quality Improvement approach to making improvements to our services. The goal of implementing Qi projects is to improve patient outcomes, whether by increasing efficiency, or enhancing service user or workforce experience. We aim to raise the visibility and success of this approach by showcasing these projects in the Qi Gardens.
About Qi Gardens
The mural-style Qi Gardens are located at various sites across BCHC; each garden contains flowers with various coloured petals, there are six coloured petals with each colour representing a Division in BCHC, each individual petal represents a Quality improvement project.
The Qi Garden demonstrates a commitment to person-centred care, and by openly sharing Qi efforts and results, BCHC can evidence their commitment to accountability and transparency. This builds trust with colleagues, users of our services, and the broader community.
We are also displaying golden apples which originate from Learning from Excellence, where people/teams are making improvements in their ways of working/improving the service. A Golden Apple is not necessarily defined by measurable outcomes, but more its contribution to creating and embedding a culture of quality
