Celebrating our apprentices
Continuing with our National Apprenticeship Week celebrations, we spoke with adult specialist rehabilitation stores administrator Rees James who began working for BCHC in 2024 and started his level 3 business administrator apprenticeship not long after to better himself and his knowledge of his role and the Trust. As he explains:
My apprenticeship really opened my eyes to how business and financing works within the Trust and I now understand different processes and ways of working, including how to apply Trust policies into what I do. My journey helped me gain a lot of confidence through group discussions and talking to apprentices from across BCHC. Not only this, I was also able to complete my maths and English alongside the course.
I would completely recommend an apprenticeship with BCHC, I was supported throughout by my tutor and manager and was provided protected time to complete my learning. It's a great course to take and thanks to gaining my qualification, I now have a lot more responsibility and can take on a variety of tasks within my role. I also have a lot more trust in my skills and can now lead on different projects.
