Selected from hundreds of nominations, the team were singled out for recognition for their work “adapting healthcare services to local needs by engaging approximately 400 participants through collaborative projects and community consultations to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes.”
Working with partners such as Clinical Research Network-West Midlands and Aston University, Community Connexions (part of the Research and Innovation team) is a patient and public engagement programme that seeks to spotlight the lived experiences of local communities in Birmingham regarding their health and access to healthcare services. This helps to adapt our services to better meet local needs, inform future health research and develop understanding for prevailing health inequalities across these regions.
