Congratulations to our new Queen’s Nurses

Congratulations to our latest group of colleagues awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse.

Recently awarded the prestigious title are Anita Charters, Bronwyn Farrell, Randeep Kaur, Emma Lewis, Nobert Machisa, Lydia O’Keeffe, Jo Peasland, Rebecca Power and Lisa Whitehouse. Combined they have worked for the NHS for over 95 years.

The prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) is available to individual nurses who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to patient care and nursing practice within a community setting.

Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Lisa, who works in our Learning Disability division said: “I feel honoured and privileged to have been awarded the Queen's Nurse badge and will proudly champion learning disability nursing and continue advocating for high quality patient care for our service users."

Jo, our Associate Chief of Nursing and Therapies, who works in our Children and Families division and Corporate team said: “I am delighted to have been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse. The last five years have been challenging for everyone in the NHS and receiving recognition for the contribution to the nursing community and leadership during this time has made me extremely proud."

Next up is Nobert, our interim Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies who also works in our Learning Disability division. Nobert shared: “I am truly honoured to have received the Queen’s Nurse award. I feel privileged to be part of such a dedicated and inspiring group of nurses, and I look forward to continuous learning and contributing to improving safe high-quality care and nursing practice in the communities we serve.”

Bronwyn, Clinical Service Manager West Locality shared: “I am thrilled to have been awarded this title, not only for recognition of the work that has been done but also as it gives great opportunities to collaborate with and learn from Queen’s Nurses in other trusts to benefit both our patients and staff.”

Randeep, our Professional Lead for Nursing who also works in the Children and Families division commented: “I feel very fortunate, privileged and humbled to be recognised as a QN, as I have always been very passionate about nursing, and always do the best I can for all that are in receipt of nursing care within the NHS.”

Emma, Paediatric Tissue Viability Clinical Specialist said: “I am proud to have been recognised for my work at national level and to hold the title.”

Anita works in our Adult and Community Services as a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse, when asked how she felt about receiving her QN award she said: “I feel extremely honoured to be awarded the Queen’s Nurse title. It’s a huge achievement and showcases my dedication to community working.”

The QN Network brings together community nurses to develop their professional skills and deliver outstanding patient care in the community.

BCHC now has 20 fully accredited Queen’s Nurses. The Trust is extremely proud of our colleagues and the excellence and professionalism they have displayed to achieve this.
