New autism insights video created by Young People and the NDP Team

Five teenagers, one boy and four girls, standing in front of a wall with graffiti.

The Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) Team at BCHC are excited to share a brand new video created in partnership with young people with lived experience of autism, produced as part of the Alternative Offer Project. The video was showcased at the Autism Event run in collaboration with Sense at TouchBase Pears in Selly Oak on 1 April.

This short film gives voice directly to young people, capturing their perspectives on what autism means to them, the challenges they face, and the support that makes a difference.

The video also showcases the ongoing work of the NDP Team at BCHC that have been working on enhancing support to children, young people, and families while they wait for assessment. By co producing this video, the project team and young contributors have created a resource that reflects authentic experiences and promotes understanding.

A huge thank you to the young people involved for their time, openness, and creativity.

Our patients and their carers and families are the reason we're here, so we want to hear your views about the Trust and our services.
