BCG Immunisation Service

The BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) vaccine helps protect babies and children against tuberculosis (TB).

Welcome to the BCG Vaccination Service

The BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) vaccine is offered to babies and children who are at higher risk of developing tuberculosis (TB), a serious bacterial infection that usually affects the lungs but can also affect other parts of the body. The vaccine is particularly effective in protecting babies and young children from severe forms of TB, including TB meningitis.

 

Please note: Vaccination UK will be providing the Birmingham and Solihull School Aged Immunisation Service and Domiciliary Neonatal Hepatitis B Service from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2031.

 

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) will continue to provide the Neonatal BCG Immunisation service for eligible babies aged 0 to 12 months in Birmingham and Solihull.
