Vote for us for a Tesco Fruit and Veg Grant!
BCHC Charity needs your votes to help us provide emergency food parcels for vulnerable families accessing the Community Children’s Nurses and Palliative Care Team, and Children’s Rapid Response Team.
Tesco’s Fruit and Veg grant programme provides funding awards aimed at making a
positive difference to children’s lives by improving their access to free fruit and veg to support a healthy, nutritious diet. Three groups in every community have been shortlisted to receive grant awards, and BCHC Charity is one of those groups! Tesco customers can vote for the group they think should take the top award of £1,500 in their local Tesco store.
The Community Children’s Nurses and Palliative Care Team works to enable children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions to be cared for at home. Working together with GPs, paediatricians, hospitals, health visitors, school nurses, social workers, and voluntary agencies, the team help families manage life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, oxygen dependent babies, chronic illnesses, childhood cancers, nasogastric tube feeding, and end of life care, as well as offering bereavement support. The Children’s Rapid Response Team aims to prevent children and young people with acute illness or deterioration in their condition from being admitted to hospital or attending Accident and Emergency departments, by supporting with enteral feeding management, issues with medications, and acute illnesses.
Many of the families accessing these services are struggling with providing the necessities for their children due to the increasing costs of food and utilities or can have trouble finding the time to go grocery shopping due to their child’s needs. BCHC Charity would use the funding from Tesco’s Fruit and Veg grant to provide food parcels to help support those families in food and fuel poverty.
Help us to bring a smile to these families by voting for BCHC Charity in-store to receive the funding needed to provide them with an emergency food parcel which could just be the lifeline that they need.
