Vote for Us to Support Families in Alum Rock
BCHC Charity needs your votes to help us set up a food bank Dyson Gardens NHS Children’s Centre in Alum Rock, to help provide struggling families with non-perishable foods, thanks to Co-op’s Local Community Fund.
The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects that provide access to opportunities and resources for people to thrive. The fund has helped over 40,000 causes support 10 million people in communities across the UK since 2016, and BCHC Charity needs your help to become the next cause to benefit from this fantastic funding.
We want to create a much-needed food bank at Dyson Gardens Children’s Centre in Alum Rock. Families experiencing hardship often face gaps in income or delays in receiving benefits, meaning that providing the essentials for their families can be difficult. Our emergency food parcels are designed to be ready to use, long-lasting, and easy to store, so that they are ideal for families who are moving to temporary accommodation or facing a sudden loss of income.
Campaign Manager Angela Ball says, “When people know they can receive food support for their family when in crisis, the children’s centre becomes a safe space where they can feel supported and cared for, rather than judged. This helps to build trust with families who may otherwise disengage, meaning children can continue to receive their vital health checks.”
Voting is open online from now until 17 October 2027. You can cast your vote by visiting the BCHC Charity cause page and signing in to your Co-op account. If you are not a Co-op member, you can sign up for just £1 (you will get this back on your first shop in-store after becoming a member), which will not only allow you to cast your vote to support our food bank project, but will also give you access to member prices across Co-op products and services.
