Celebrating 2,084 years of incredible NHS service!

Colleagues who have served 25 years or more at the Birmingham City Council House

We were thrilled to host our third annual Long Service Awards at Birmingham City Council House last week.

The prestigious event was led by our Chief Executive, Richard Kirby, who opened the ceremony by highlighting the profound impact of long-term dedication on our community. The awards recognised over 60 amazing colleagues whose service totals to 2,084 years, having each dedicated 25 or more years of their lives to providing exceptional care and service in the NHS.

To celebrate, guests were treated to a wonderful afternoon ceremony where a huge thank you was presented to all. Attendees were able to talk over a selection of cakes and refreshing drinks, while the room was filled with beautiful live music performed by award-winning harpist, Lucy Nolan. The event provided the perfect opportunity for colleagues to reconnect, share fond memories, and reflect on their shared journeys.

Each colleague was presented with a commemorative certificate and a long service pin badge to serve as a small symbol of our immense, heartfelt gratitude for their lifelong dedication and unwavering loyalty.

One colleague said: “I have really enjoyed today's event, it's been so lovely seeing everyone.”

Eileen Brennan, business support manager said: “The Long Service Awards celebration event is lovely to be part of. The venue and atmosphere created with music made the occasion feel special and enjoyable.”
