Celebrating International Women's Day

Celebrating International Women's Day

Each year, the world unites for International Women's Day, a global movement that celebrates the social, economic and cultural achievements of women while issuing a vital call to action for gender equality.

Celebrating this day is so important because it reminds us of how far women have come and shines a light on the hard work and dedication women pour into our Trust every single day.

Women's Network co-chair, Emma Harrison said:

International Women's Day reminds us of how powerful we can be and how significant women made a stand so we can have opportunities and gain the world we live in today.

I am proud to be a co-chair of the Women's Network as it allows us to support women in a space safe, while raising awareness on how we can create better ways to support our colleagues. The network hosts sessions where we can help each other confidentially by sharing experiences and knowledge, and also highlights Trust policies and wellbeing conversations.

The 2026 theme 'give to gain' encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration while empathising the power of support that when women thrive, we all rise and to recognise this, we spoke with women from across the Trust to understand what International Women's Day means to them and how the Trust have supported them.
