Community Connexions joins Jamaican cultural celebration

A wide range of BCHC services were showcased throughout the weekend when the Community Connexions team joined exhibitors at the Jamaica 0121 Festival.
The event, in Victoria Square, Birmingham, celebrated 63 years of independence, with three days of Jamaican and Caribbean culture, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of Jamaica in the city centre.
The mostly free outdoor event for all the family featured live music, DJs, Jamaican cuisine and a wide variety of stalls.
Community Connexions is a BCHC patient and public engagement programme that seeks to foreground the lived experiences of local communities in Birmingham and Solihull regarding their health and access to healthcare services, helping us adapt services to better meet local needs, inform health research and develop understanding of health inequalities.
BCHC colleagues joined the Community Connexions team to provide health and wellbeing checks and advice, information about career opportunities and details of BCHC's key partnership role in the local health and care system.
