Community Connexions joins Jamaican cultural celebration

A wide range of BCHC services will be showcased today (Friday, 8 August) and throughout the weekend when the Community Connexions team joins exhibitors at the Jamaica 0121 Festival.
The event, in Victoria Square, Birmingham, will mark 63 years of independence with three days of Jamaican and Caribbean culture, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of Jamaica in the city centre.
The festival is a mostly free outdoor event for all the family, featuring live music, DJs, Jamaican cuisine and a wide variety of stalls.
Community Connexions is a BCHC patient and public engagement programme that seeks to foreground the lived experiences of local communities in Birmingham and Solihull regarding their health and access to healthcare services, helping us adapt services to better meet local needs, inform health research and develop understanding of health inequalities.
BCHC colleagues will join the Community Connexions team throughout the event to provide health and wellbeing checks and advice, information about career opportunities and details of BCHC's key partnership role in the local health and care system.
