When winners can't make it to our  VIP awards presentation night, we make sure they don't miss out on their moment in the limelight.

For children and families divisional superstar Clare Woodall, that meant bringing four-week-old daughter Orla along as she belatedly received her award.

With little Orla only a few days old on the night of the presentation ceremony, mum had more pressing commitments. So, after Clare was revealed as this year's winner, divisional colleagues invited her along to a regular team get-together for physiotherapists and occupational therapists to present her award - and meet the new arrival!

Clare had been nominated by Nafisa Safdar, whose daughter is among patients she supports regularly as part of  the children's occupational therapy team.

Nafisa said she was moved to nominate Clare for the "incredible impact" she has made as her daughter's occupational therapist.

"From the very first session, Clare has been an outstanding source of support for both my daughter and our whole family," wrote Nafisa.

"Clare's warmth and compassion shine in everything she does. She takes the time to listen and never rushes, making both my daughter and I feel valued and at ease.

"Her calm, patient approach creates an environment where my daughter feels safe, motivated, and understood. She explains strategies and exercises clearly and encourages me to share any concerns, helping me feel confident in supporting my daughter at home.

"Clare treats my daughter with dignity, recognising her unique strengths and challenges, and tailoring sessions to her needs. She celebrates every achievement, no matter how small, ensuring progress is recognised in a way that keeps my daughter motivated.

"Clare's commitment goes beyond the therapy room. She ensures I am equipped with practical tools and knowledge to support my daughter daily, transforming how we approach challenges and giving us confidence as a family.

"Above all, Clare makes my daughter feel included and capable, adapting activities so she can participate meaningfully and grow in confidence. Clare doesn't just provide therapy she provides hope, reassurance, and a genuine sense of partnership.

"Her dedication, expertise, and kindness have had a lasting impact, and she is truly deserving of recognition."
