New video offers young people autism insights

Five teenagers, one boy and four girls, standing in front of a wall with graffiti.

The neurodevelopmental pathway (NDP) team is excited to share a brand new video created in partnership with young people with lived experience of autism.

Part of a package of support for families on waiting lists for autism assessments, the video was showcased at an autism awareness event in collaboration with Sense.

As part of the enhanced support offer, we have also recently incorporated a range of new accessibility tools across the BCHC website, significantly improving accessibility of information, which has been incorporated

This short film aims to give voice to young people, capturing their perspectives on what autism means to them, the challenges they face, and the support that makes a difference.

The video also showcases the ongoing work to enhance the support we provide to children, young people, and families while they wait for assessment. By co-producing this video, the project team and young contributors have created a resource that reflects authentic experiences and promotes understanding.

A huge thank you to the young people involved for their time, openness, and creativity.
