Welcome the GP Provider Support Unit team

The GP Provider Support Unit team has this month completed its move from the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (ICB) offices to our Trust HQ in Birmingham (near Aston University campus).
The relocation is a key step in the team becoming more closely aligned with BCHC and helps to strengthen our partnerships with primary care and our role in leading the Birmingham and Solihull Community Care Collaborative.
The team includes around 25 colleagues who offer a range of professional support and guidance for GPs and their practices across Birmingham and Solihull.
BCHC chief executive Richard Kirby said: “I would like to welcome colleagues from the GP Provider Support Unit as they move into BCHC’s offices - a clear signal of closer alignment of healthcare services in our area.
"It's a great opportunity to bring primary and community care closer together and help get that integrated care model up and running. I look forward to our teams working more closely together to create more integrated care for the people and communities we serve.”
- In Birmingham, there are 175 general practices with total registered patients ranging from about 1,500 up to 58,000. Practices are grouped into 36 Primary Care Networks which cover populations of around 30-50,000. General Practice delivered 9.3 million appointments during 2024/5 (three per cent more than the previous year). Over 70 per cent of appointments were face-to-face.
