Our service works to enable children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions to be cared for at home.

Resources for patients and carers

The Children's Community Nursing or Palliative Care Team may have provided you with some equipment to meet the needs of the child you are caring for. You should have received individual training on the equipment specific to your child and they should have a care plan specific to them. We have compiled some additional resources that will support you in using and managing this equipment.

DeVilbiss Vacu-Aide Suction Unit (7325)

Laerdal Suction Unit

DeVillbliss Suction Unit 7305 series (darker grey): a suction machine usually provided through Medequip that is dark grey in colour with the pressure dial on the side of the machine and white topped suction pot.

DeVilbiss suction machine 7325 series (lighter grey and blue): a suction machine usually provided through Medequip that is light grey in colour with a dark blue top, grey pressure dial to the top of the machine and white topped suction pot.

 Laerdal Suction Unit: a suction machine usually provided through commissioning manufactured by Laerdal, yellow in colour with a blue carry handle and blue dial/on off switch.
