Referral criteria

Paediatric Continence Service

• Children and young people must be registered with a Birmingham GP
• Children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 (19 if attending special school) years who have problems with daytime wetting, soiling, and constipation.
• Physical assessment must be carried out by GP or hospital consultant if under their care, prior to referral to rule out any underlying concerns.

 

Enuresis Service

• Children and young people must be registered with a Birmingham GP
• Children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 (19 if attending special school) who have night time wetting (bedwetting) only.
• Physical assessment must be carried out by GP or hospital consultant if under their care, prior to referral to rule out any underlying concerns.
