Our Digital and Information Delivery Plan
Digital, data and technology will play a vital role in helping Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust deliver safer, more integrated and sustainable care over the next three years. The Digital and Information Delivery Plan sets out how BCHC will use digital innovation to improve patient experience, support colleagues, increase productivity and strengthen decision-making across the organisation.
Among BCHC's digital and information priorities for 2026 to 2029:
- A complete digital patient record for every clinical team to improve continuity of care, reduce duplication and ensure clinicians have access to the information they need, wherever care is delivered.
- More time for patient care through automation and AI-enabled tools, reducing administrative burden and simplifying routine processes across the Trust.
- Reliable digital infrastructure and connectivity that supports neighbourhood working, virtual care and agile working across community, clinic and home settings.
- Better use of information, integration and insight through improved data quality, shared care records and trusted reporting to support safer care and better decision-making.
- A digitally confident and inclusive workforce supported by the Digital Academy, targeted training and accessible digital services that work for staff, patients and communities.
