Our Estates and Facilities Delivery Plan
The Estates and Facilities Delivery Plan 2025 to 2030 sets out how Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will develop and manage its estate to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. The plan focuses on creating sustainable, flexible and efficient healthcare environments that support our workforce, strengthen community-based services, improve collaboration with partners and help meet future healthcare needs across Birmingham and beyond.
Among BCHC's estates and facilities priorities for 2025 to 2030:
- Develop Locality and Neighbourhood Hubs: create integrated community care hubs that bring services closer to home, improve access for patients and support multidisciplinary team working.
- Invest in modern training facilities: provide high-quality learning environments that support workforce development, digital learning and future service innovation.
- Strengthen partnerships and shared use of estates: work with the Integrated Care Board, local authorities and other partners to maximise the use of public estate and deliver joined-up services.
- Deliver Net Zero and sustainability goals: reduce carbon emissions through energy-efficient buildings, renewable technologies and sustainable estate management practices.
- Optimise and modernise strategic assets: develop key sites such as West Heath Hospital, Moseley Hall Hospital, Greenfields and Riverside Lodge to ensure they remain fit for future healthcare delivery.
