Impact of AHP Strategy 2020 to 2024 

Key achievements include:

  • AHP Leadership: Divisional AHP Professional Leads across all five Clinical Divisions; Trust Wide Professional Leads for 5 or the 9 AHP Profession at BCHC; new Associate Director of Therapies and a fixed term Lead for AHP Support Workers have all led to new ways of working and significant developments.
  • New AHP roles: Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Academic Roles, Clinical Research Fellows; AHP Workforce Lead, AHP Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the Urgent Community Response Team and Divisional Leads for Research and AHP Job Planning.
    National and international recognition for the innovative work of our AHPs.
  • New ways of working; increasing Podiatry and Dietetic prescribers and the use of medicines by the Orthoptists.
  • Increasing the workforce by increasing student placements, apprenticeships, return to practice and maximising clinical care by rolling out e-Job plans to all registered AHPs.
  • Communication and joint learning across BCHC improved with the development of AHP profession specific and AHP Support Worker Networks.
