Development of the AHP Vision

Purpose and scope

Provide one clear vision of BCHC AHPs prioritised deliverables aligned to BCHC strategy and the Ten Year Health Plan.
Ensure BCHC has an evolving AHP workforce to deliver safe, effective and efficient care, in the right place at the right time, aligned to Ten Year plan Locality and Neighbourhood models and new models of care.
Ensure that the AHP workforce can deliver the present and future care needs of BCHC patients.
Ensures the AHP workforce can contribute, engage and deliver Care Collaboration clinical pathway priorities aimed at reducing health inequalities.
Provides a rationale for a direction of travel for the BCHC AHP workforce in the next four years and defines objectives to achieve this.
Incorporates key national and local drivers and brings together national AHP Strategy, national AHP targets/aspirations, Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System and BCHC objectives into one managed prioritised AHP vision and Delivery Plan.
Scope: all registered/unregistered Allied Health Professionals working within BCHC.

First draft input from Divisional AHP Professional Leads, Professional Leads and DDNTs.
AHP Professional Leads, Clinical Divisions & Teams were provided with a chance to engage in a discussion regarding national AHP priorities and local priorities for BCHC.
Co-production exercise resulted in all national AHP objectives being included and examples of specific areas to address.
Approximately one third of the total BCHC AHP workforce took part.

BCHC R&I Community Connexions supported and facilitated coproduction with 40 members of the local community at a round table meeting.
Members were from different faith and cultural groups, voluntary and charity organisations, forums and groups from different localities and communities across Birmingham.
12 children and young people from 2 primary schools in different localities reflective of diverse demographics and needs in Birmingham were also engaged with.
