Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support
What is the Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) offer?
Health Visitors, Early Years and Family Support Workers are knowledgeable about SEND services and can provide advice, signposting and will make referrals to appropriate services and connect families to SEND services within their local community.
BFS works in partnership with KIDS to provide support for children with SEND and their families, or those awaiting further investigation. KIDS deliver groups in the Family Hubs and community venues.
BFS offers in each of the Family Hubs a Stepping Stones Group to support parents of children in the Early Years (from birth to 5 years old) with identified or emerging additional needs, to build confidence of parents/carers in meeting the needs of their child and access to SEND information. For more information contact your local Family Hub.
