The Occupational Therapy (OT) Skill Builders programme aims to upskill a member of staff to deliver an OT based intervention group within mainstream secondary school settings. OT Skill Builders focuses on topics which support the development of a young person’s independent life skills for transition into adulthood.
| Media leisure | Developing skills needed for young people to participate in leisure activities such as playing video games, socialising with peers and touch typing. |
| Travel | Developing the skills needed to stay safe whilst travelling to school via different methods, for example walking or the bus. |
| Meal preparation | Developing the skills needed for meal preparation and highlighting challenges young people may face. |
SEND Occupational Therapists will support your member of staff to design of session plans, facilitate intervention groups and assess young people both pre- and post-intervention.
